The project challenge in sustainability MATTERS asks students to focus on sustainable farming practices or profile a local farmer. Students highlight social, economic and environmental factors that are part of local food systems and communities. They are challenged to shoot a video, create a profile poster, develop a food asset map, design a lab, create an infographic or design their own project.

sustainability MATTERS asks students to explore chemicals essential to life, nutrients, ecosystems, organic and inorganic material, environmental monitoring, biogeochemical cycles, and food chains and websthrough the lens of agriculture and food production. Students focus on the importance of being an informed food consumer and involved citizenand what they can do to ensure that decisions about our food system are based on science, accurate information and informed choices.
