Ag Career Fair

David Thompson High School in Condor, Alberta held a career fair and invited many of the speakers they met at Cultivate in order to engage the other students at the school with the world of agriculture and career opportunities within the sector.

Inside Education’s Cultivate summits are designed to increase students’ understanding of food security in Alberta through the exploration of sustainability, accessibility and technology and innovations in agriculture. The development of school or community-based projects that focused on agriculture opportunities in students’ communities were part of the learning experiences at Cultivate. This student project is generously shared by Inside Education. Find out more about their youth summits on their website.

School: David Thompson High School - Condor, Alberta
Students: Inside Education's Cultivate Student Participants
Topic: Food Democracy
Reflection: "…this project has already had a positive spin-off as our student leadership team (Students in Action) has agreed to hold a fundraiser to raise money for our local food bank as we thought that helping to feed our community members shows the importance of agriculture. Your donation in lieu of gifts at Cultivate was our inspiration.”
